ABOUT MIKE HEIDENREICH
Hi, I'm Mike Heidenreich

WHERE I COME FROM
I am dedicated to representing the hardworking families of Wisconsin's 6th Congressional District. Born and raised in this vibrant state, I understand the challenges our citizens face and believe it's time for a government that prioritizes the needs of the working families. I'm committed to advocating for universal healthcare, addressing underfunded schools, and fighting the transfer of wealth to the ultra-wealthy. Together, we can build a brighter future for all families in district.
A VISION FOR WISCONSIN
Mike Heidenreich envisions a Wisconsin where every hardworking individual has the opportunity to thrive. As a champion for economic fairness and social justice, he is determined to create a future where every Wisconsinite can pursue their dreams and build a better life for themselves and their families.
MISSION STATEMENT
Restoring Dignity and Opportunity
Mike Heidenreich's mission is to restore dignity, opportunity, and fairness for working Wisconsinites. His approach centers on putting people first and advocating for policies that uplift and empower every individual. By prioritizing equality and opportunity, he aims to build a future where every Wisconsinite can thrive and prosper.
Jobs and the Economy
I know what it is to punch the clock and work long shifts to keep a plant running. Too many families are living paycheck to paycheck while the wealthiest get richer. We need policies that reward hard work, protect unions, and bring back good-paying jobs to our communities. That means investing in American industry, modern infrastructure, and the small businesses that keep our towns alive. No one should feel that leaving home is the only way to find opportunity. The only way to make this work is for all the stakeholders to actually sit down and work together to make this work. I will always be working to make those kinds of collaborations happen to improve people’s livelihoods.

Healthcare
Healthcare should not depend on where you work or how much money you make. Too many families delay care or drown in medical debt because our system puts profits over people. We can build a system where no one is forced to choose between paying the mortgage and seeing a doctor. Expanding affordable access and bringing costs down is not a partisan issue, it is about dignity and survival. Universal healthcare is not some unachievable goal, but a moral imperative that also happens to be smart policy.

Education
Every child deserves a strong education that prepares them for the future. Teachers need support, schools need resources, and families need to know their kids are safe and cared for. That means fighting for fair funding, access to technology, and affordable pathways to higher education or skilled trades. Education should open doors, not saddle young people with crushing debt before they even get started. Our communities are worth investing in. Education is an investment that never stops paying out.

Workers’ Rights
I have lived the reality of being a union worker, and I know firsthand the power of having a voice on the job. Workers should never be silenced, exploited, or pushed aside while corporations rake in record profits. Protecting the right to organize and collectively bargain means stronger communities, safer workplaces, and fairer wages. When workers rise, America rises with them.

Rural Communities
Rural Wisconsin has been overlooked for too long. Families in small towns deserve the same access to healthcare, broadband, and job opportunities as those in bigger cities. Supporting farmers, protecting land and water, and investing in infrastructure are not extras, they are the backbone of our state. Strong rural communities mean a strong Wisconsin.

Veterans and Military Families
The men and women who serve our country should never be left behind when they come home. Veterans deserve top-notch care, mental health support, and a government that honors their sacrifice with action, not empty promises. Military families also need support during deployments and transitions. Serving those who have served is a duty we cannot neglect. We also have a duty to see that their time in uniform is respected and not used for in ways that dishonors their mission and purpose. They are not a national police force and not a replacement for that.

Energy and Climate
We cannot ignore the reality of climate change, but we also cannot abandon the workers and communities who have powered this country for generations. The future must include both cleaner energy and a just transition that protects jobs and builds new opportunities. We can lead in innovation, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and hand our kids a healthier planet. Wisconsin should be at the front of that change. This is the challenge of our lifetime. We have to rise to meet it with actual policy and foundations being laid down, not promises far off and never achieved.

Democracy and Voting Rights
Our democracy only works when everyone has a fair shot at participating. That means protecting voting rights, ending partisan gerrymandering, and making sure elections are secure and accessible. Politicians should not be choosing their voters. Voters should be choosing their leaders. The strength of our democracy rests on the voice of the people.

Gun Violence and Safety
Every family deserves to feel safe in their home, their school, and their community. We can respect the rights of responsible gun owners while still pushing for common-sense measures that keep weapons out of dangerous hands. Background checks, safe storage, and red flag laws save lives. This is not about politics. It is about protecting our kids and our communities.

Healthcare for Mental Health & Addiction
Mental health and addiction issues are hitting families across Wisconsin, and too often the support just is not there. We need more treatment options, better insurance coverage, and stronger community-based programs. No one should be left alone to fight these battles. Supporting mental health is about giving people the chance to live full, meaningful lives. It also is about recognizing even with insurance, there is a vast shortage of qualified professionals to help. This needs to be a priority that we put resources in to fight.

Homelessness
This country has always had issues with painting being homeless as somehow criminal; as though living on the street was a moral failing and not a moral failing on our part for not doing something to help them. I plan on looking to decriminalize homelessness and instead focus on measurably successful programs that help people back into homes. This will lessen the strain they put on emergency resources by instead bringing them back into a society that has made being poor a crime for too long. We have such successful programs already available, we only need to actually implement them again.

People Over Party
I am not asking you to become a Democrat. What I am asking is that we put people over party. Too many politicians care more about scoring points and protecting their side than solving problems. I believe most of us want the same things: good jobs, safe communities, and a fair shot for our kids. If we can agree on that, then we can get somewhere. Washington could use a lot more listening and a lot less shouting.
